Dream Center Syllabus Language for Faculty
We encourage faculty to share the following information about Dream Center services with their students:
"The Chabot Dream Center is located in Bldg 700, 1st floor, room 706, and provides Bilingual (English/Spanish) support, resources, information and referrals for all Dreamer, undocumented, AB 540, and DACA students and allies in a safe and confidential environment. Services include counseling, assistance with AB540, Residency, CA Dream Act, and FREE immigration legal services, in partnership with East Bay Community Law Center: http://i2yr.philboardport.com/student-services/dreamers/index.php."
UndocuAlly Training Program for Educator Allies
The UndocuAlly training will be a 3 hour virtual session designed to help educator allies build a shared set of tools, knowledge, and resources so they can best support undocumented students. Every semester we will offer sessions for Chabot employees and local area High School and Adult school employees. We ask that participants commit to the entire 3 hour session. The session will cover:
- The importance of language, tone & approach
- Understanding the undocumented student population & student experience
- Key terms, laws & policies affecting undocumented students
- Chabot Privacy Protocol
- On and off-campus resources
- Case scenarios
- Strategies to best support undocumented students
